Hard work does pay off. Also, having the proper education helps build a successful career. William Lightner has enjoyed traveling the world and speaking in front of large groups because of his work ethic and studies.

Also, because of Lightner's vast education training, he has collected prestigious awards during his career.

Summary of Awards Received During Career

While serving in the United States Army, Lightner earned an advancement for being a distinct honor graduate. This promotion was a result of finishing first in his class.

Following his military stint, Lightner went to work for Kirby Vacuums. While working for the company, he earned Top Salesman of the Year four straight times. A few other salespeople have only achieved this honor over the years in the business.

Adding to his success at Kirby Vacuums, Lightner also won Salesman of the Month a total 47 times out of 48 possible months.

Outside of his career, Lightner has had success with the hobbies of his life. He won three State Championships in chess. He also finished third in Nationals competition.

"It could be professional or personal, I am competitive," says Lightner. "These awards are terrific for a resume, but the experience of winning is something I enjoy."

Lightner Begins Educational Background by Attending Prestigious Schools

Lightner attended a private Baptist school for his early education. He then went to Vestal High School, where he graduated with honors.

Out of his long list of colleges to choose from, Lightner picked Judson University to continue his higher education studies. He believed Judson was the perfect choice for his college education.

"I chose Judson because they represent the Church in a high education environment," explained Lightner.

On Judson University's website, the school "equips students to be fully matured, responsible persons who glorify God."

Judson has over 1,250 pupils. This fact means the student-to-teacher ratio applies well to one-on-one instruction and direction. They promote that they are "not too big, not too small."

For his studies, Lightner chooses Christian Religion and Philosophy studies. Lightner earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both fields of education. These degrees were a result of long hours of research and sacrificing other aspects of his life to fulfill academic requirements.

Also, Lightner attended Clarks Summit University for a Master of Arts degree in Divinity. All of these educational degrees were helpful during his career and professional advancement.

This honor is the first professional degree in the pastoral profession throughout North America. The distinction is the general requirement for ordination to the priesthood or pastorship as a person tries to obtain a job in the church.

Continuing Education Through Adult Life And Career

While Lightner has obtained many degrees, he also turned to earning proper certifications.

He earned a Series 6 and Series 63 license as a Financial Advisor for a large Wall Street investment business.

Attempting the Series 6 license is by professionals who want to earn a job in the financial system. These professions include financial advisors, private bankers, and retirement plan specialists.

To pass the Series 6 license exam, Lightner had to mark high scores for the Investment Company/Variable Contracts Products Limited Representative portion.

Also, the Series 63 is a license allowing the holder to solicit orders for any security for that respective state. To pass the test, Lightner had to occupy knowledge of ethical methods and fiduciary obligations.

These tests and exams were just stepping stones to a successful career Lightner experienced later.

"After hours of study, it was a blessing to pass these hard certification exams," says Lightner. "The hard work paid off, and the proof is in my career and awards I've earned over the years."
