NPCA Committees Respecting Opinion
During the past last several years, Bates has become a supporting Associate Representative of the National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) Precast Concrete Paving Slabs Committee. He has also become linked with other organizations, such as the Post-Tensioning Institute. This group is a not-for-profit trade corporation.
The committees in the NPCA have a long past in the concrete construction industry. Furthermore, these panels have become highly regarded by professionals within the construction profession.
Since 1965, the NPCA has connected with numerous enterprises of plant-produced precast concrete assets. Also, they have bettered suppliers of essential products and services within the construction industry.
The NPCA committees hold its constituents in the highest esteem. Bates has not taken the responsibility and opportunity for granted. He knows his career is moving quickly and will not let the success go to his head.
"I stay humble when I become recognized or become called upon to speak in these committees," says Bates. "I know gaining a cocky attitude can rub people the wrong way and making enemies is something I do not want to experience."
What has set Bates ahead of the game from other instrumental professionals of the concrete industry is outspoken nature. Not only has Bates served on one of the more respected boards in the construction industry, but he has also been able to voice his opinion and make important decisions for the panel.
PTI Another Resume Builder For Bates
Not only has Bates kept himself busy with NPCA, but he has also involved himself with the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI).
The institute concentrates solely on five principals. Those are: Educate, Organize, Market Certification, Communicate Effectively, and Market Post-Tensioning.
"What has helped me the most is learning the ins and outs of the concrete industry at PTI," remarks Bates. "Serving with two corporations can become remarkably overwhelming, but not for me. I've accepted the challenge, and the work has helped both careers for both companies."
While operating with PTI, Bates has become a regular attendee of the PTI Convention. The event is an opportunity for specialists in the concrete industry to network. Also, they expand their understanding and knowledge in the post-tensioning industry. Bates has taken advantage of the convention by networking with some of the more notable professionals in the industry.
Also, as Bates advances his career in the concrete industry, it's becoming apparent his opinion is becoming respected and sought after. Professionals and leaders in the industry that have years of experience have mentioned Bates in other meetings.
