Founded in London, England, almost 100 years ago, Save the Children now has bases in a further 29 countries, operating as the Save the Children Alliance.
NEW YORK, April 13, 2018 (Newswire.com) - "The alliance directly supports children in over 120 countries in total," says Natalia Sishodia.
Having recently pledged her support for the organization, the New York-based realtor is keen to help publicize Save the Children's tireless hard work.
Save the Children aims to better the lives of children across the globe by improving standards of education and healthcare, and by ensuring future economic opportunities.
"Save the Children also provides vital emergency aid in times of war, during violent conflicts, and following natural disasters," points out Sishodia.
In becoming a child sponsor, Natalia Sishodia joins over 180,000 other individuals who have made the same pledge, plus millions of additional supporters, in changing the lives of children, both in the US and globally, through their generosity.
With former Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at the helm, the global Save the Children Alliance arranges emergency-relief efforts to protect children from the effects of violence and war and promotes better rights for young people by enforcing the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
"It's a cause close to the hearts of many people, myself included," says Sishodia of the organization.
She continues, "The charity does incredible work, helping tens of millions of underprivileged and at-risk children around the world each year."
Last year, Save the Children reached over 50 million children globally, directly through its own work, and the work of its partners. This number is up 10 percent on five years ago, thanks largely to the benevolence of patrons such as Sishodia.
"We believe every young person deserves a future," says the charity. "Around the world, we give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. We do whatever it takes for children, both day-to-day and in times of crisis, to transform their lives and the future we share."
Sishodia adds, "It's such an important organization, and I'd urge anyone who is in a position to do so to make a pledge or donation, however small. It's only with our support that Saves the Children can continue their work, every bit of which is incredibly important to the well-being of children around the world.
